Andrew Marino

Baltimore, MD based guitarist and teacher Andrew Marino has performed throughout his native New York State, Maryland, and beyond as a soloist and in chamber groups.

Recent solo performances include recitals at The Walters Art Museum and Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Baltimore, and Villa Maria College of Buffalo, NY. As a chamber musician Andrew has recently appeared in the Baltimore Musicales recital series of the First Christian Church, and at the Classical Guitar Society of Upstate New York.

Andrew is a prizewinner in several competitions, including the Crane School of Music Chamber Music Competition and Appalachian State University's GuitarFest Competition.

He has also participated as a soloist in numerous master classes with prominent guitarists such as Benjamin Verdery, Johannes Möller, Stephen Aron, Stanley Yates, Jason Vieaux and the guitar trio Presti.

Andrew is an active teacher in the Baltimore/DC area. He teaches a variety of musical styles to
students ranging in age from pre-school to adult. Andrew's students perform regularly, have been
accepted to university guitar programs, and have gone on to teach lessons themselves. In addition to his
studio teaching Andrew teaches the Guitar Methods course at the Peabody Conservatory to Music
Education majors.
Andrew holds the degree of Master of Music in Guitar Performance/Pedagogy from the
Peabody Conservatory where he was awarded a full assitantship. He graduated summa cum laude from
the Crane School of Music of the State University of New York at Potsdam where he earned a Bachelor
of Music degree in Guitar Performance. He is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Musical Arts program
at the Peabody Conservatory where he is a full-time graduate assistant.
