Piano Lessons, Vocal Coaching
Alec Davis is an active musician in collegiate, professional, and community settings as an instrumentalist, piano teacher and vocalist and has taught piano lessons for children and adults at Cockeysville Music Education Center since early 2012.
Winner of competitions in both piano and voice, Alec has performed at such venues as Ward Hall, Harris Theater, The National Gallery of Art and the John F. Kennedy Center. Alec was the winner of the 2006 Reely/Hendricks Scholarship for pianists, whose founder, Joe Inman, commented that he "has the soul of a true musician." As a singer, he is most active as an oratorio singer and Church musician,and is a former member of the Choir of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. His compositions have been performed throughout the DC area, including sets for solo piano, violin, and chorus. Alec has assisted with musical direction at Upper Room Theater (VA), Summer Dinner Theater (MD), and Centre Stage Theater (DC), and in Howard and Baltimore County Schools. He continues to work with singers and instrumentalists as a performance coach and accompanist, and is presently the Principle Organist at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Derwook, Md and the Rehearsal Pianist for the DC based ensemble Thomas Circle Singers. Alec received his Bachelors of Music degree in Piano Performance from Catholic University of America, in Washington DC.
